Pure Hypno Analysis in Bedford, Milton Keynes, Luton and Northampton to assist with easy weight loss and emotional eating

Pure Hypno Analysis - what is it?

Pure Hypno Analysis is a form of psychotherapy (one of the talking therapies) combined with hypnosis to help speed up the process by allowing you to easier access your emotions and release them in a gentle, drug free way

During your sessions Sue Wilson and Gary Foster are supportive but do not direct the therapy – this is about what your mind needs to deal with, not what we think might be causing you problems.  In this way your mind can deal with thoughts, feelings an issues from the past, present and future in it’s own time and according to what is right for you.

Why do I need psychotherapy for weight loss?

One of the main reasons that people put on weight and then retain it is ‘comfort eating’ and we’ve all been there....you’ve had a stressful day and even though you’ve had dinner and you’re not really hungry (physically at least,) you’re reaching for a biscuit, or a bar of chocolate, or that packet of crisps.

There may be times when you’re shocked  to find yourself at the bottom of a packet or at the end of a snack and you don’t really remember eating it...it’s as though something inside yourself, yet almost out of your control is driving a need for food – and that’s exactly what is happening!

One of our earliest drives is to please our Mother (or primary caregiver,) and children learn from a very early age that eating the food given to them will do just that...whether it’s our lingering post-war mentality, or just the fact that food is ‘sold’ to us through advertising and packaging as a luxury rather than a basic need, we’ve come to associate eating with being well and doing well in our lives.

Food becomes for many people a way of rewarding themselves or ‘treating’ themselves and we rarely allow ourselves to feel physically hungry because we’re eating when we’re bored or stressed, angry or lonely and for a multitude of other emotions

Eating to change our emotions

Food becomes our drug of choice – it changes our mood....chocolate gives us a natural high (from endorphins) for example and processed food such as chips and crisps provide serotonin (which is found in anti-depressants,) to relax the mind.

It’s no surprise then that we don’t hear stories of people overeating salad or vegetables, as they won’t change how we feel in any significant way. Yet these mood altering foods can only work for a short time before the effect wears off...and we’ll need to eat again to recapture the feeling, which explains those hours spent ‘grazing,’ or the fact that you may find yourself feeling sick before you can persuade yourself you’ve had enough

So why do we need those foods and their mood control properties?

The answer is, because there’s more going on beneath the surface; bottled up emotions that are being held back with the help of food, yet ironically, by overeating we actually create more pressure on ourselves, making us feel even less worthy, less attractive and more isolated from those around us.

If we deal with our emotions, the comfort eating will reduce significantly and the excess weight will also reduce

What are the side effects?

Using our fast and effective therapy you’ll find yourself dealing with much more than just weight.  Many of our clients also suffer from a lack of confidence, low self esteem, anxiety, depression, problems sleeping, difficulties in socialising and a host of other symptoms, and the good news is that the therapy works on all of these at the same time, because all of these and the overeating are symptoms of those bottled up emotions and when we deal with those, all the symptoms subside

How does it work?

An average client will complete their therapy within 8 to 10 sessions, for some it will be shorter and others longer, depending on their level of commitment and motivation.  Sessions are weekly and held at our offices in the centre of Bedford.  They last between 50 minutes and 90 minutes depending upon the work being done that week (e.g. some sessions are longer to incorporate the Relaxed Eating Programme elements.)

Pure Hypno Analysis mimics your mind’s natural self-healing practices; the same mechanism you use to grieve and get over the death of a loved one is used by all of us daily, to resolve smaller conflicts in our minds but they’re uncomfortable...we don’t want to remember the times we were hugely embarrassed or upset by something we did, didn’t do or by the thoughts, words or actions of another person...we want to sweep them under the carpet and move on with our lives....but eventually you’ll start to run out of space under that carpet as you move through the inevitable challenges in life and before long the little things in life are stressing you out, leaving no energy to deal with the ‘big stuff’

By gently releasing those bottled up emotions in a safe, confidential and supportive environment your mind will be free from anxieties which fuel comfort eating.  Our clients tell us that they sleep better, are more patient with their children, partners and work colleagues, the little things in life just stop bothering them as they relax and begin to use their new-found confidence to get on with life...many make big changes to their lives, simply because now they can!

Who is it suitable for?

Pure Hypno Analysis is designed to deal with anxiety symptoms and their causes, such as overeating and weight retention and/or an obsession with food. Plus anyone with a history of anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self esteem, low self confidence and phobias would find huge benefits from this therapy.

The Relaxed Eating Programme and Pure Hypno Analyis

If you decide to undergo Pure Hypno Analysis you will also be offered a simplified form of the Relaxed Eating Programme to deal with the habit of overeating at the same time as the emotional drive.  In this way we cover the two most important elements of overeating in one course of therapy
